A McAllen woman who moved to New York City with hopes of becoming a dancer has now been missing for 30 days.

Laura Garza left a Manhattan nightclub with convicted sex offender Michael Mele in December.

The 25-year-old McAllen woman was last seen with him at his apartment, about 70 miles north of Manhattan.

But her friends and family remain hopeful that Laura is still alive.

They held this vigil for her over the weekend here in the Rio Grande Valley.
