Harlingen Cardinals Eliminated in Week 4 of Playoffs

A historic run ended in Kingsville on Friday night.

The Harlingen Cardinals made Rio Grande Valley high school football history this season.

The team advanced to Week 4 in the high school football playoffs.

The Cardinals were the first Valley team to make it that far in more than 10 years time.

After a hard-fought game, the Cardinals fell to the San Antonio Madison Mavericks in a 42-27 loss.

Head Coach Manny Gomez told Action 4 News that he's proud of his players.

The Cardinals has remained undefeated all football season.

The team held a 13-0 record they held before the game against the Mavericks.
