Pet lovers and their little doggies will get a special treat on Thursday night at Harlingen's 'Bark at the Park.'

It was expected to be a howling good time for dog lovers, especially for man's best friend who may not get out on the town as often as he would like.

"They see somebody opening the door and they want to get out too," said Harlingen Humane Society Manager Frank Quiñones.

Who doesn't like America's favorite past time: baseball, at the home of the White Wings, Harlingen Field?

Organizers said the game would be even better Thursday night along side Fido, Spot, Lassie or whatever name you call your dog.

Just grab your little four legged friend and take them out to the ball game and help those dogs who don't have a home to find one.

"It was cool to see them all out there," said Quiñones.

Quiñoneswas rooting for Thursday night's game after last year's home-run with the pups.

"Every player lined up outfielders where they go and the infielders where they go and the pitcher and we just took enough dogs to where like everyone stood next to one of the players," said Quiñones.

It was a win-win situation with the Harlingen Humane Society catching the proceeds from half of each admission ticket sold.

These little ‘tail-waggers’ have already struck out, ending up at the shelter for adoption.

If enough fans showed up to the stadium, the dogs would all hit a home run.

On the diamond Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. it’s the WhiteWings vs. McAllen Thunder.

Tickets are $6 to get in with your dog.

Organizers said $3 from each ticket will go straight to the Harlingen Humane Society.
