A man who was rushed to the hospital from the South Texas Sizzler race died Saturday morning.

Paramedics confirmed with Action 4 News that he had gone into cardiac arrest.

They responded to the scene at around 9 a.m.

The South Texas Sizzler is a Harlingen based 5k and 10k race that begins at the Sports Park. The race goes down F.M. 509, down Grimes and back.

It is not clear whether the man was participating in the 5k or the 10k race.
