Authorities have retrieved a truck used in a chase where the driver plunged it into the Rio Grande and swam to Mexico.
It all happened near Chimney Park Resort & RV Park off South Conway Road on Thursday, December 6th.
Investigators told Action 4 News that the driver of the suspect vehicle plunged his car into the water.
The driver swam across the Rio Grande to Mexico where vehicles and men were waiting for him.
Chimney Park is a popular Winter Texan resort but has been the scene of other cross-border smuggling incidents.
A dive team retrieved the truck on Wednesday morning.
No word what was inside the truck.
