A La Homa man is behind bars under a $1 million dollar bond for the weekend murder of his brother-in-law.

Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested Francisco Damian Casarez on a murder charge on Saturday.

Casarez is accued has been charged with the death of 21-year-old Daniel Serrano.

It all happened early Saturday morning on Mile 2 North and La Homa Road.

Investigators said a domestic dispute between the two led to the deadly shooting.

Sources said Casarez allegedly told Serrano to get off his property but he refused to leave and continued arguing.

Casarez appeared before a judge at the Hidalgo County Jail late Monday morning where he was issued a $1 million dollar bond.
