Man crashes truck into pole after high speed chase

A man was arrested in Mercedes after leading police on a high speed chase.

The pursuit began at Melton Park Drive on Sunday around 5 a.m..

Officers were pursuing the driver of a grey Chevy Silverado.

The chase ended on W. 10th St. and Texas Ave. when the driver slammed  into a light pole, knocking it down.

After the crash, the man attempted to run away from police, but was quickly apprehended.

The reason for the chase is unknown at this time.
