Police are searching for an armed man who robbed a McAllen bank Friday evening.

The suspect went inside the IBC Bank on 2900 W. Expressway 83 around 5 p.m.

A source told Action 4 News that he used a gun and took an estimated $50,000 before fleeing the scene in a beige/tan Ford Focus.

The suspect is described as being 5’ 8”, medium built and in his early 20’s.

The car he drove away is described as an older model Ford Focus. McAllen police said the car’s front right fender is slightly different in color than the rest of the vehicle.

The suspect was last seen wearing a long haired wig, black baseball cap, sunglasses, a dark jacket and faded baggie jeans.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact McAllen Crime Stoppers at 687-8477.

Information leading to an arrest may be eligible for a cash reward.
