Eighth grader stabbed at middle school in La Grulla

A scuffle between two 8th grade boys at Grulla Middle School today ends with a stabbing.

Rio Grande City police and the Starr County Sheriff's Department were called in to assist school district police after one of the 8th grade boys was stabbed with a small knife.

The victim was treated at a hospital in McAllen and released. It's unknown how many times he was stabbed.

Rio Grande City CISD Superintendent Roel Gonzalez confirms that the suspect has been apprehended.
