A truck driver was arrested Thursday night after he was caught at the Sarita Border Patrol Check Point with multiple packages of cocaine.
He was attempting to drive a tractor/car hauler through the checkpoint when a Border Patrol service canine alerted agents about something suspicious near the sleeper area of the truck.
After further inspection, agents found 24 individually wrapped packages of a white powdery substance under the sleeper area.
The substance tested positive for cocaine.
The driver was identified as Brownsville resident, Jonatan Hernandez.
He was taken into custody and was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession with intent to distribute.
