BROWNSVILLE, TEXAS (AP) -- Records show eight people have been indicted in the July killing of a man after he was abducted from a restaurant during lunch.

A Cameron County grand jury returned aggravated kidnapping and capital murder indictments in the shooting death of 22-year-old Reyes Bocanegra of Brownsville.

Restaurant customers and workers were tied up during the July 18 kidnapping of Bocanegra. His body was found later in the day in his SUV about 10 miles north of Brownsville.

Investigators have said they believe the attack was drug related.

The Brownsville Herald reported Wednesday that the indictment was returned Oct. 24. All of the arrests happened in July and August.
