On November 1st and 2nd, people across the valley will honor the memory of those who have passed on.

Dia de los Muertos (All Souls Day) is a historic tradition in the Hispanic culture.

The Museum of South Texas History currently has an exhibit celebrating the holiday.

Martha Peña from the museum stopped by Action 4 Sunrise to talk more about this exhibit.

This year's family-friendly event offers traditional food, mariachi music, artisans, children's activities, vendors and festive skull painting.

The "Altar Exhibit" will be one of the most anticipated elements of this special day.

Each altar is made by volunteers from the Rio Grande Valley and they commemorate the lives of departed loved ones.

It will all be held at the museum on Nov. 3 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The all-day event is included in regular museum admission.

FRIENDS of the museum are admitted free as a benefit of FRIENDships.

For more information you can call (956) 383-6911.
