Mexico’s Attorney General’s Office charged three men on Thursday with kidnapping eight Central American immigrants at a home in downtown Reynosa.
According to a press release from the Procuraduría General de la República (PGR), the three men held the immigrants captive at a home on Palafox and Morelos Streets, located approximately 14 blocks west of the Hidalgo-Reynosa International Bridge.
Mexico’s Federal Police officers arrested the men and freed the immigrants, after receiving an anonymous tip.
Inside the home, officers also found 560 grams of marijuana.
Following their arraignment, the three men were transported to the federal prison in Matamoros where they will await a trial.
