A potent cold front will filter in much cooler air into the Rio Grande Valley within the next few hours.

The front is expected to reach the area sometime this afternoon, with rain and a few embedded thunderstorms possible along the leading edge.

Besides the rain, a marked shift of wind to the north will occur, picking up to around 20-25 mph.

But the big story is really the colder air, with temperatures for those football games overnight expected in the 60’s, and remaining there through the majority of your Saturday.

By Sunday, skies become partly cloudy with highs in the 70’s expected, lows in the 50’s.
