2,000 without power in Weslaco area

Crews are working to restore power to some 2,000 homes and businesses in the Weslaco area.

Emergency Management Coordinator George Garrett spoke to Action 4 News about the power failure.

Garrett said that a transmission line went down causing the outage on Friday afternoon.

Officials estimate that power will be restored to all homes and businesses by 6:30 p.m. Friday.
