A Harlingen family is breathing a sigh of relief after their a 2-year-old boy who went missing was found safe and sound.
It all happened at the La Casita Apartments off of Sam Houston Drive around 2 p.m. Friday.
Investigators said the boy went with his grandmother to the apartment complex laundromat.
The boy wandered off while the grandmother was washing clothes.
Harlingen police were called to the scene.
Investigators said that the boy wanted to go back to his family’s apartment but accidentally went to the wrong apartment, which was unlocked because the tenants were being evicted.
Searchers found the boy safe and sound asleep on the couch inside the apartment.
The boy's mother told Action 4 News that she was grateful for all the help from police and neighbors.
