Authorities identify body found in Laguna Madre

 Authorities have identified the body found in the Laguna Madre as 65-year-old Michael McPeak from Port Isabel.

Cameron County Sheriff Investigators told Action 4 News they are treating this as a homicide.

A fisherman found McPeak's body Friday morning near the Paradise Cove Subdivision in Laguna Vista.

The neighborhood is located northeast of Highway 100 and FM 510.

Cameron County Sheriff Omar Lucio said deputies believed the man's body had been in the water for at least 48 hours.
