Smoke prompts evacuation at McAllen Memorial High School

Authorities temporarily evacuated McAllen Memorial High School after somebody saw smoke and pulled the fire alarm.

McAllen ISD officials told Action 4 News that the school was evacuated as a precaution on Friday morning.

Firefighters were called to the school where investigators learned the smoke was coming from light that crews were working on.

Investigators cleared the scene and allowed students to return to classes around 11 a.m. Friday.
