San Juan police are investigating a Saturday morning shooting that involved a family of three, including a 11-year-old boy.

Officers responded to the intersection of Cesar Chavez Road and Sam Houston Boulevard at around 5 a.m.

According to the family, as they came to a complete stop at the intersection in their SUV, they saw three men walking eastbound approaching their car.

The men crossed in front of their vehicle, one of the men took out a gun, pointed it out at the passenger window, and shot a round inside the SUV.

The bullets entered the front passenger window, struck the driver on the left arm and exited through the front driver side window.

The driver of the SUV drove himself and his family to the Alamo Police Department. They were then taken to a local hospital for medical treatment. The extent of their injuries is not known at this time.

Witnesses say one of the suspects was not wearing a shirt, but long baggie blue shorts. One of the other suspects was wearing a black shirt with shorts.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact San Juan Crime Stoppers at 283-TIPS (8477) or at www.sanjuancrimestoppers.com

Information could result in a cash reward of up to $1000.
