A man accused of sexually abusing a child in Hidalgo County is behind bars after more than 19 years on the run.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers arrested 51-year-old Raymundo Cedeno Jimenez on Friday afternoon.
Jimenez walked across from Mexico on the Hidalgo-Reynosa International Bridge around 4 p.m. Friday.
Customs officers ran routine check and learned Jimenez was wanted for a sexual assault of a child case.
Details were not immediately available but investigators said the incident happened with a 12-year-old child in Edinburg back in 1993.
Investigators told Action 4 News that Jimenez is a Mexican national.
Customs officers turned Jimenez over to the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office.
