Authorities are investigating the death of a 2-month-old baby after the boy was found unconscious early Friday morning.

Weslaco police said it happened at home in northwest Weslaco around 6 a.m. Friday.

Investigators told Action 4 News that the boy's father found the baby unconscious inside the family's home.

The baby's parents rushed the child to the Knapp Medical Center where doctors were unable to revive the boy.

Hidalgo County Justice of the Peace Jesse Morales has ordered an autopsy to determine the cause of the child's death.
