The community of Las Milpas came together to support the Cazares family, whose 1-year-old son was accidently run over on Tuesday

Friends and neighbors of the family gathered Saturday afternoon at J.C. Elementary to sell plate lunches---raising funds for the family.

On Tuesday, the father accidentally backed over his 1-year-old son while taking his other three children to school.

The baby died at the hospital.

J.C. Kelly School Principal Judith Dimas said the staff just wanted to lend a helping hand during this difficult time.

"It just feels really good, how everyone has come together and everybody is here working,” said Dimas.  “We've been up all night and it's been great."

The group sold 600 plates and received other donations. All the funds will go towards helping the family with funeral expenses.
