The death toll has now climbed to 30 people in a deadly explosion at a gas plant south of the border in Reynosa.

PEMEX officials confirming that more people have passed away since the Tuesday morning blast.

More than 40 people remain hospitalized.

The cause of the explosion still remains under investigation.

But PEMEX officials are stepping up to help families with funeral expenses and hospital bills.

According to the American Consulate in Matamoros, there are no immediate reports of U.S. citizens being injured or killed in the blast.
