San Juan police are searching for a man who they say cut his girlfriend with a knife.

According to investigators, the victim called police and the man barricaded himself inside a home on 7th Street and Nebraska Road around 2:45 p.m. Monday.

The woman was not seriously injured but fled across an apartment complex to find help.

The SWAT team was called in but before they arrived, the man had allegedly fled out the backdoor.

The name of the 20-year-old suspect is not being released at this time but investigators said he's wanted on aggravated assault charges.

San Juan Police Chief Juan Gonzalez told Action 4 News that they received information that the suspect might be at a home in Pharr.

Pharr police are assisting San Juan police at this time.

Action 4 News will provide more information as it becomes available.
