A man is behind bars after being accused of trying to rape a woman at an Edinburg tire shop on Monday.
Edinburg police report that the sexual assault attempt happened at the Medina Tire Shop off Closner Boulevard.
Investigators told Action 4 News that a woman went there alone to get a flat tire fixed.
Police said the suspect Lorenzo Gonzalez lured her to a back room.
That’s where Gonzalez allegedly locked the door, cornered the young woman and tried to rape her.
Gonzalez is charged with attempted sexual assault.
Bond is set at $50,000 dollars.
Investigators said Gonzalez is an illegal immigrant.
