Drunk man struck and killed while walking

A man killed in a fatal auto pedestrian accident may have been drunk.

Alberto Blanco, 53, was killed just after 9 p.m. on Saturday along Farm-to-Market Road 1925 and Eubanks in Hidalgo County.

According to reports, Blanco was walking south on Eubanks when an Elsa man driving a Chevrolet Malibu struck and killed him.

Texas Department of Public Safety Spokesman, Johnny Hernandez, told Action 4 News they beleive Blanco may have been drunk while he was walking along this roadway.

An autopsy has been ordered.

At this time, no charges will be filed against the driver of the Malibu.

The investigation remains open.
