A 14-year-old is facing criminal charges for shooting two women.

According to police, the unidentified teen was handling a gun when it discharged shooting one female in the chest and the other in the leg.

The two victims, ages 19 and 45, are both expected to recover.

Police responded to the 2600 block of West Quince on Saturday after receiving several 911 calls.

The teen has been charged with deadly conduct which is a misdemeanor class "A".

He's being held in the Hidalgo County Juvenile Detention Center.

The 14-year-old's relative, 30-year-old Brian Ariel, was also arrested and charged, police said, for making the gun accessible to the teen.
