The Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley and HEB have teamed up for an all day school supply drive.

Participating HEB stores in the Harlingen area are taking the much needed supplies on Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The donations will be taken to 43 elementary schools in South Texas as a part of the food bank’s School Tools program.

Some of the supplies needed are glue, spiral notebooks, backpacks, boxes of crayons, erasers, pencils, pens, 3-ring binders, dividers, index cards, wide-ruled paper, graphing paper, tissue boxes, and highlighters.

At the HEB store on 613 S. Expressway 83, children’s interactive activities will be provided including face painting, book giveaway, a flash mob, a cup cake walk, duck fishing game and bean bag toss.

Everyone is encouraged to attend the day-long event.
