Victim identified in fatal wreck near PSJA North High School

Authorities have identified a man killed in fatal wreck near PSJA North High School early Thursday morning.

It all happened south of the school just south of Raider Drive around 12:09 a.m. Thursday.

Pharr police said a collision sent a green Dodge truck with driver Luis Manuel Vasquez, Jr into a canal between Eldora and Sioux Roads.

Hidalgo County Justice of the Peace Ismael Ochoa declared the 34-year-old San Juan man dead and ordered an autopsy.

It's not clear who was at fault during the accident but he case remains under investigation.
