Father Larry Klein of the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Harlingen had nothing but good things to say concerning Maricela Villareal.

“She was a very kind person, a very warm person,” said Klein. “She always had a smile and a giggle."

Villareal was found dead in her bedroom Thursday night, presumedly shot by her boyfriend Jose Sanchez, who also turned the gun on himself.

A relative told Cameron County investigators Sanchez believed Villareal was cheating on him.

Working with Villareal at St. Anthony's Catholic School, Father Klein says he knew nothing of the sort.

"It's a tragedy, a great tragedy for us and we just have to leave it at that," said Klein.

A mother of three, Villareal will be sorely missed.

"She was a tremendous mother,” said Klein. “She cared deeply for her children and everyone felt mothered by her and that is what we need to remember her by."
