Second suspect arrested in Brownsville kidnapping & murder

Authorities have arrested a second suspect in a recent drug-related kidnapping and murder that happened in Brownsville.

Brownsville police told Action 4 News that suspect Abraham Parra was arrested some 200 miles away in Laredo.

Parra is accused for participating in the July 18th kidnapping and murder of 22-year-old Reyes Bocanegra.

Five gunmen kidnapped Bocanegra at the Mariscos Playa Azul seafood restaurant off Military Highway.

Authorities found Bocanegra's body a short time later off Roberta Road in the Rancho Viejo area.

Brownsville police arrested 29-year-old Francisco Javier Flores on a murder charge on Monday evening.

Police Chief Orlando Rodriguez said the suspects are believed to be affiliated with the Partido Revolucionario Mexicano prison gang.

Chief Rodriguez said detective believe that Flores, Parra and others were working for a third party.

Investigators have not released the names of the other suspects but Chief Rodriguez said authorities believe they are also from the Laredo area.
