A statewide initiative to help people receive free healthcare is now underway.

Providers with Operation Lone Star have set up shop across the Rio Grande Valley.

Specialist John Villareal and Colonel Robert Morecook  joined us on Action 4 Sunrise to explain this event.

Some of the services that will be provided are: immunizations for children, diabetic screening, blood pressure screening, hearing and vision exams, sports physicals among others.

A few of the locations will be at PSJA High School, Palmview High, Ringgold Middle School and Manzano Middle School.

It will go on Wednesday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday July 27 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
