Border Patrol Agents Struck Head-on

Department of Public Safety officers are continuing to investigate an overnight accident in Palmview after two Border Patrol Agents were struck head-on by an oncoming vehicle.

The agents were heading eastbound on Military Road around 1:30 a.m. according to Border Patrol Chief Enrique Mendiola when the accident occurred.

Chief Mendiola says one agent was airlifted to a local hospital and the other was transported by ambulance.

They have been released pending follow up appointments with their physicians.

The driver of the oncoming vehicle is pending charges, which are unknown at this hour.
