A PSJA ISD program to get high school dropouts back on the right track is now in the national spotlight after being featured on the PBS network.

The PBS Newshour featured the program as part of its American Graduate series on Wednesday and Thursday.

Superintendent Dr. Daniel King spoke about how the school district halted dropout numbers with a program to bring them back to school by offering college credits.

At the beginning of each school, Dr. King and volunteers go door to door to visit with the dropouts and get them back to school.

The program was first featured by Action 4 News during an August 2010 report.
