A convicted sex offender from Brownsville is back behind bars after he allegedly used alcohol to rape a young girl.

Brownsville police arrested 25-year-old Byrone Eliud Delgado-Gonzalez over the weekend. 

Investigators told Action 4 News that a young girl came forward with the allegations on June 22nd.

The girl told police that it all happened on June 15th at a home on the 1800 block of Victoria Lane.

According to the girl, Delgado-Gonzalez gave her alcohol, got her drunk and then raped her.

Detectives questioned Delgado-Gonzalez and charged him with one count of aggravated sexual assault of a child.

Delgado-Gonzalez appeared before a Brownsville municipal court judge where he was issued a $350,000 dollar bond.

The Brownsville man is listed in the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Convicted Sex Offenders website.

According to DPS, Delgado-Gonzalez served 5 years in custody after raping a 4-year-old girl when he was a juvenile.
