Authorities have identified three people who were shot near a rural gas station in Edinburg while the suspects remain at large.

Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office deputies reported that 50-year-old Rodolfo Garza was killed in the triple shooting.

Investigators told Action 4 News that 47-year-old Rogelio Delgado and 56-year-old Americo Gutierrez were also shot but expected to recover.

Deputies said the shooting happened off Skinner Road just northeast of Edinburg on Wednesday evening.

The men managed to make it to the nearby Flying J gas station off U.S. Highway 281 and Monte Cristo Road.

Paramedics rushed the three to local hospitals where Garza died due to a gunshot wound to the head.

A motive for the triple shooting is not clear but deputies said four gunmen fled the scene in a black Chevrolet Tahoe.

Investigators said Garza lived off Skinner Road while Delgado and Gutierrez lived across the border from La Joya in Diaz Ordaz, Tamaulipas.

It's not clear how the three victims knew each other or if they knew their attackers.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Hidalgo County Crime Stoppers Hotline at (956) 668-TIPS.
