Authorities are investigating a man's background after he led authorities on a chase that ended with a car crash in Weslaco.
It all started off Expressway 83 in La Feria early Monday morning.
La Feria Police Chief Donato Garcia said one of his officers tried pulling the car over because the driver didn't signal while changing lanes.
The driver refused to stop for the officer and led police on a chase about 10 miles west all the way to Weslaco.
Chief Garcia said the chase only ended after the suspect's car hit another vehicle on the expressway.
The suspect driver was injured and taken to a local hospital.
Chief Garcia said officers found marijuana inside the suspect vehicle and that the driver is supposed to face charges after being released the hospital.
