A teenager is behind bars after being accused of raping a a young woman right after they got done smoking marijuana at a hotel room.
Brownsville police said 17-year-old Brandon Keith Sanchez surrendered for a sexual assault warrant on Monday.
Investigators told Action 4 News that Sanchez and the woman had gone to his hotel room off Media Luna Drive and Expressway 77/83 back on May 29th.
The woman said she smoked marijuana with Sanchez but that he took advantage of her.
Sanchez allegedly tried to take her clothes off several times and then raped her.
The woman ran out of the room and Sanchez fled the scene but investigators learned his identity through the hotel records.
Sanchez turned himself in to authorities on Monday where he was issued a $40,000 dollar bond.
