The man responsible for shooting another man in the back earlier this weekend was arraigned on Sunday morning.
Billy Gonzalez was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
His bond was set at $50,000.
On Friday night, four men had been drinking outside of a house near Roma when Gonzalez got into a fight with 28-year-old, Heraldo Chapa
Gonzalez reportedly left the house to go get a 30 caliber gun, then came back to shoot Chapa in the back.
Gonzalez had fled the scene but was found by Starr County Sheriff deputies two hours later in a nearby brushy area.
Chapa was taken to McAllen Medical Center and is in stable condition.
