Man, woman arrested for weekend stabbing in Brownsville

A man and a woman are behind bars after spending days on the run for a weekend stabbing left a 20-year-old man fighting for his life.

Brownsville police arrested 29-year-old Betsabe L. Rios and 20-year-old Francisco Ramos late Tuesday night.

The two have been charged with aggaravated assault with a deadly weapon.

It all happened on the 2400 block of Munich Street on the city’s northwest side early Sunday morning.

Investigators told Action 4 News that Brownsville police were called to the scene around 3:30 a.m. Sunday.

Officers found a 20-year-old Juan Pablo Castillo stabbed in the chest and identifiedy Rios and Ramos as the suspects.

The two had fled the scene before police got there but officers found their car on the 1100 block of Morningside Road.

Details about their arrests on Tuesday night were not immediately available.

Police said Castillo remains hospitalized in critical but stable condition.
