A new five figure reward is being offered in the case of a newlywed found murdered in bathtub in Chicago, with ties to the Rio Grande Valley.

The FBI is offering a $10,000 reward in the murder of Estrella Carera.

She was murdered in a dress she wore her on wedding night.

Her new husband, Arnoldo Jimenez is the prime suspect.

A thin line of red evidence tape still sealed the scene Thursday night.

"It's crazy. It's scary to be over here still," said the bride's neighbor Theresa Wilbanks.

"I still can't believe they haven't caught him. It's hard to believe," said Wilbanks.

Court documents reveal police tracking her husband Arnolodo Jiminez to the Valley soon after finding his new wife slain in the bathtub.

On May 12, the day after the wedding, police traced his cell phone in Chicago, Southern Illinois, Memphis, Arkansas, then the next day Houston and finally in the city of Hidalgo.

Before he left, he confided in his sister in one of those calls that he had left his new wife "bleeding."

Court documents list the search as nationwide.

"Within 2 hours of locating the victim we alerted the Border Patrol, authorities in Texas, local airports and more," said Burbank Captain Joseph Ford.

Her wedding story turned manhunt for the man she wed.

"Nice, gorgeous, beautiful, hard to believe you could do that to somebody," said Ford.

"We've learned quite tragically that it's quite easy to get out of the country on foot to Mexico," said Ford.

Police believe he was hiding out in Mexico as of Thursday night.
