On May 20, CBS’ “60 Minutes” will feature a family from Brownsville whose father was buried in the wrong burial plot.

Marco Guerra, a retired postal service worker in San Benito, died in 2001.

Today the family knows where he is buried, but getting to that point was a long road for them.

Guerra had been buried in one grave, but was then removed and buried somewhere else.

The Guerra family took the case to court.

Vicki Trevino, former employee of Mont Meta Memorial Park , testified that the park reburied Guerra without notifying the family.

She said an employee sold the family a plot that was already owned, but did not update their records after the burial.

The case settled for millions of dollars in mid-May this year, but the family cannot speak publicly about the incident as part of the agreement.

The “60 Minutes” report that airs Sunday raises questions about whether cemetery businesses need more oversight.
