The threat of severe weather continues for the Rio Grande Valley today.
This morning, showers and a few embedded thunderstorms have developed in northern parts of the viewing area, making already slick roads from Tuesday night’s event more dangerous.
A slow moving complex between Brownsville and South Padre Island also dumped substantial rains, with some spots getting in excess of a quarter of an inch so far.
A stalled-out frontal boundary will provide energy, and combine with moisture and instability to create increasing chances for thunderstorms through the afternoon, mainly after the noon hour.
Some of these storms could be strong to severe, with the possibility for torrential rain, strong winds, and even hail.
Motorists need to take precautions and make preparations to seek shelter.
