A man’s body was found near the Rio Grande River near Palmview on Wednesday.

The area of the river where the man was found is near the major intersection of Military Road and Abram Road.

The body was found floating south of a levee.

Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Department and the Palmview Fire Department are working on the case.

Authorities are treating it as a drowning.
