Authorities are on the lookout for a large monkey following reports about sightings in the Mission area.

Mission police told Action 4 News that they received numerous calls from residents living near Stewart Road and Mile 2 North.

All of the callers told police that they saw a large monkey wandering around.

No one was hurt by the monkey and no photos or video have been taken of it.

There have been no reports filed about a missing animal that matches that description.

But this is the second sighting of a monkey wandering north of Mission in the last two weeks.

Area residents reported a spider monkey, a much smaller type of monkey, was north of Mission over the weekend.
