Sullivan City officials are staying tight-lipped about the recent firing of their Police Chief Jose Anaya.
Action 4 News has learned that the city has reached out to the Hidalgo County Sheriff's Office to conduct a criminal investigation involving him.
But city officials wouldn't go into details about why they requested the investigation.
The officials referred Action 4 news to their attorney but he did not return a phone call.
Anaya took over following the arrest of former Sullivan City Police Chief Hernan Guerra.
A federal judge sentenced Guerra to 10 years in prison for his role in a drug trafficking case.
