Authorities searched McAllen Medical Center following a bomb threat phoned in to the hospital.
It all started with a phone to the Mission Police Department around 2:30 p.m. Friday.
Mission police passed the information along to the McAllen Police Department.
McAllen Police Chief Victor Rodriguez said the caller reported a bomb would be dropped off at the hospital.
McAllen police and firefighters are at the scene searching the building.
Authorities are strictly controlling access in and out of the hospital.
Chief Rodriguez said investigators believe the call was hoax but are taking every precaution.
Authorities gave an "all clear" alert for the hospital shortly after 4 p.m. Friday.
