A Harlingen woman was arrested Friday night after she severely assaulted her common-law husband by striking him with a wine bottle.
Harlingen police arrested Christa Nicole Parker on the 600 block of E. Taylor Avenue after the victim managed to contact a friend to notify officers.
The 51-year-old man, Christa Nicole Parker assaulted, reported that he and Parker had been in an argument all day.
He told officers she became violent when she punched him, struck him multiple times across his body and face and smashed the wine bottle over his head.
The man suffered a laceration to his head, severe swelling and pain to his right forearm.
Parker was charged with aggravated assault and her bond was set at $50,000.
