Fatal accident victim identified as Lopez High School student

Authorities have identified a 14-year-old bicyclist killed during a weekend accident as a Lopez High School student.

The fatal accident happened off the frontage road of U.S. Expressway 77/83 and International Blvd around 11 a.m. Saturday.

Brownsville police said Damian Antonio Ochoa was riding his bike when he was hit by an 18-wheeler.

The 14-year-old boy died as a result of his injuries.

Investigators identified Ochoa as a ninth grade student at Lopez High School.

No charges have been filed against the driver of the tractor trail while the accident remains under investigation.
