The damage is done.
Windows broken and floors soaked and pretty much everything Mary Diaz has worked for her entire life was taken away in a short period of time.
"Everything got destroyed in the house,” Diaz said.
Diaz didn’t watch as the wind and rain destroyed her home
“I was scared. I mean I thought it was a tornado…So I hid in the closet.”
While she did not watch the destruction, Diaz said she heard it.
"It was awful." said Diaz.
Now she is left with the aftermath of what was once her sanctuary and the harsh reality that it will cost thousands to fix.
"I don't have insurance,” said Diaz. “I don't have it."
She said without insurance or the money to repair it, her home will never be the same.
